Santa's Helper by Di Garling

Goodmorning Everyone,

Well it is heating up here in tropical North Queensland Australia. Getting close to using our airconditioners again after a beautiful mild winter. I love Di Garlings work and today I thought I would post one of her You Tube videos called Santa's Little Helper. Although we don't have snow up here I really love this page, for  the people who live in hot climates at xmas we could use maybe a star stensil instead of snow flakes.  In this video she uses glitter with texture paste to get a sparkly background. I really like this idea. I hope you take the time to watch this video and enjoy.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Playtime Fun/Baby Boy

Hi Everyone,

Today I am featuring a double page layout I have done of my grandson. In my grand children's photo albums my main aim is the photo. When you look at the pages I want the photos to be the focal point, therefore I do fairly simple pages, that I think are pleasing to the eye, but the photos are the most important part of the page. I like to do a 5x7" photo on the first page and then fit as many corresponding photos on the second page. On each page I always journal and tell the story of those particular photos. I don't like to have my handwriting on every page as I do not like my handwriting, but in saying that I do think it is nice to have handwritten journaling in the scrapbooks for future generations of my family to see, so I do a lot of Hidden Journaling. You can use anything for journaling boxes. You can use tags and slip them under your photos. You can decorate your tags. Make small envelopes and pop your story in there.  Make small journaling boxes out of the paper you are using on your layout and then pop a tag in the box.  If you look at the second page today, you will see I have made a tag and slipped it under the first photo. I cut out two small hearts from the Ezy Press Heart Die and attached the two together, so you can pull the tag out. The ideas are limitless. I hope you enjoy my pages for my grandsons albums.

Treasured Memories

Hello Everyone,

This photo is my favourite photo of my grandmother. I just love her sitting on the horse in her pretty dress with her brother standing beside her. I had an idea that I wanted the photo to look like a picture hanging on a wall. I picked the wood panels as it matched the old wood panels on the shed behind my grandmother. It is a page which i scrapped from Kaszazz products and stamps. I love the old family heritage photos and I am lucky enough to have a good collection of heritage photos. My family was poor and came out from England, when my grandmother was a small baby, so I am thankful for them, as I should imagine it would have been hard for them to have photos taken of the family. When I first started scrapbooking 20 years ago or more the first album I did was  Creative Memories Album with my Heritage photos, telling the story of my family. One of my photos dates back more than 105 years. Today my album is in pristine condition and my children love to look through the album when they come up for a visit. Gee the style of my scrapbooking has changed. I hope you enjoy my Layout.

Best Day

Hi Everyone,

Some time ago I scrapped the page below and card for a special reason, and although it was very popular nothing happened regarding it, so today I thought I would put up a post showing you my work.

At the time I absolutely loved doing every piece of this LO. I think it was the bright colours of the papers that I do not usually use. I loved the Peacock Feather Stamp and loved using the White Embossing Powder to bring out the beautiful shape of the feathers. I found at the time that all the white stamping and embellishments just stood out on the page. The flowers are small white crochet flowers with a rose brad in the middle. It is funny how something I thought would be so popular, did not appeal to other people. Oh well this LO is one for the album.

Fool Proof Way to Line up Dies and Stamps by Heartfelt Creations

Hi Everyone,

Well it is warming up here in far North Queensland and summer will soon be upon us. I often have a little trouble when lining up Stamps with Dies and today I am featuring a video tutorial to help with this by Heartfelt Creations. This video demonstrates the Heartfelt Creations technique of lining up the stamps with their dies. You will learn how to create a template to line up a single stamp, how to line up and cut out 12 flowers at once and lining up the stamps with dies that have cut lines on the edges. These techniques will have you die-cutting stamped images in no time!

Hope you enjoy this video.

Baby Boy

Good Afternoon Everyone and happy first day of spring to you all. Introducing to you my new Grandson. You will be seeing a lot of him in the near future. I will have to get into the groove with boy pages, as for a long time now I have only been doing mostly girly pages. The paper used in this layout is from the Kaszazz Range - Early Years this being called Prince. The Baby Boy stamps are also from Kaszazz as well as the Pearl Flourish on the top of the page. Using a Martha Stewart punch I punched out randomly two places on the paper, just to loose that square look, although I wanted straight lines on this page, and of course the bow is from my very favourite die - Kaszazz Bow Maker. I seem to get so much use from this die. Flowers are from the Prima Range, and the colour was a perfect match to the paper. On the Baby Boy words I have stamped them out with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Weathered Wood. A little piece of muslin behind the flowers softened them somewhat. Well I hope you enjoy my page and I hope you have a great first day of Spring.

I also have a second Blog showing pages and cards I make solely with Kaszazz Products. If you would like to have a peek hop on over to www.kerryskaszazzkorner.blogspot.com

Flip-Out Page

Hello Everyone,

I have been rather busy lately with other commitments but today I am featuring a Flip-Out Page I have done on my Dad. This page was done with papers My Minds Eye, and I am not sure the name of them but I think they may have been from a collection called "Lost and Found". I used seven pieces of the different papers in this collection along with a Brown linen cardstock.

Matching Brads and titles were used and different ribbons that matched, laces, ric-rac and rhinestones. I had bought these all together at the time. I also inked their edges of the paper with Tim Holtz, Scattered Straw Distress Ink. This page was rather difficult to do, but I am so pleased with the outcome.

Hope you enjoy this page.

Mum

Hi Everyone,

Today I have eventually got back to scrapbooking in earnest after four weeks break. My page today is based on a photo taken of my mum when she was a girl. Some of the products I have used on this page are as follows: Firstly using a Teresa Collins Damask mask and using my paste which I made from Gabrielle Pollacco's recipe,(posted on my blog some time ago), I proceeded to mask my paper. Then using a La Blanche stamp did a bit of stamping onto the white paste. I then printed off my photos and placed them on my page. Found a piece of old newspaper print paper in my stash and used that as the backing for my photos. All my Flowers are from Petaloo, wooden swirl from Kaisercraft. I found other bits and pieces in my stash like the wooden bottle, resin flowers, a Melissa Frances Chalkboard Charm and a Timeless Chipboard word I then covered with Embossing Powder.
My aim on this page was to use stamps I hadn't used for a while and try and use up bits a pieces I have left over from other pages. The paper I have used is from Blue Fern Studios Montage "Now and Then".

I hope you enjoy my page.

Family

Hi Everyone,

Sometime ago I completed two Family History Albums, and one of the photos I loved the most was one of my Grandmother and her Brother. Today I am featuring a Vintage Style Layout incorporating this photo. All paper flower are handmade, using a die. I had sat there for hours one day making these flowers and left them in my scrap room to dry. Sometime in the early hours of the morning I woke up and thought I didn't cover the flowers up, oh the cats won't touch them. When I went into my room in the morning three flowers were gone, I have a sneaking suspicion who the culprit was, and I am sure she ate three flowers. This was a lesson learnt always cover my scrap table up before going to bed.

All products used in this layout are from the Kaszazz Range of Products.
I hope you enjoy looking at my page.

Two Hearts

One of my favourite Scrapbook Page Designers is Gabrielle Pollacco. Her work truly inspires me and makes me really think about the designs for my pages I scrap. When I saw this page designed by Gabrielle I just wanted to do it. She has a tutorial for this page for anyone to do, so I gathered up some paper and goodies and here goes. I set up my tablet in front of me on the table so I could follow the tutorial and off I went, do not have the same paper and embellishments as Gabrielle designed her page with, but I think it has turned out pretty good, and yes I am using up some of the last pieces of paper from the Bo Bunny Madeleine collection. I will be very sad when these papers are gone but onto my newer ones. I can honestly say these papers are my very all time favourite. My husband Peter came in to see what I was doing yesterday afternoon and his words were "Wow I really like this one" a stamp of approval I think. I purchased Gabrielle's Tutorial from The Scrapbook Diaries.
Thank you Gabrielle for a beautiful design.
